Gulab Jammun





Gulab Jammun is milk solid based dish popular in Indian subcontinent . It is a dessert eatten at festivals , Birthdays and major celebration like marraiges .There are various types of Gulab Jammun and every variety has distinct taste and appearance. Gulab Jammuns are generally made from khoya/mava , milkpowder .They are also made by adding sugar to a batter which gives black coolur after frying called kala jam or black jammun ,They can be given shapes like round oval and can also stuffed with nuts and raisins , they can be served with kesar , rabdi, silver vark.

Ingredient.....

  1. Khoya /Mava 250 gms                
  2. Arrowroot powder 50 gms
  3. Sugar for chachni 1 cup
  4. Water for making chachni 2cups
  5. Oil for frying
  6. choped nuts , pista , raisins, kesar

Take mava and arrowroot powder in a vessel.


I usually prefer grated mava for uniform mixing it with arrowroot powder.


Mix together to form a dough.


 Make  small round balls 


You can also stuff them with dry fruits .


Heat a oil and fry the balls under medium flame till golden brown.


Mix  1 cup of sugar in 2cups of water and boil well to make a single strand chachni.
Add strands of kesar and elaichi powder.


Add fried gulab jammun to a hot chachni .





Coconut Delight




Coconut ladoos are very popular Indian festive delight made from decicated coconut ,milk and sugar.the combination is great to taste.This is very simple and delicious usually made during festivals like Diwali Ganesh Utsav.

Ingredient.....
  1. Decicated coconut - 1 cup
  2. milk  - 1 cup
  3. sugar - 3/4th  cup
  4. cherry for garnishing
  5. ghee

Take decicated coconut


Boil a cup of milk.


When the milk starts boiling add in decicated coconut.


Stir...


Cook till it leaves the sides.


Cook till all the milk gets incorporated into coconut and forms a dough.


Apply ghee on your palm and make  small ladoos, further roll it on decicated coconut powder.


Place a cherry on each one of them.

Paneer Pahadi

I have tried making it in every way and it taste awesome ,the tender mushroom grilled are just melt in mouth.we can also stuff the mushrooms and cover it with foil and leave it on rack of the charcoal for grilling.

Ingredient.....
  1. Mushroom - 10-15 buttons cup 
  2. Curd/yogurt - half cup
  3. Ginger - 1 inch
  4. Mint leaves - half a cup
  5. Green chillies - 1-2
  6. Corrainder leaves chopped -2-3 tbspoon
  7. Cumin seeds-1tspoon
  8. Lemon - half 
  9. Salt as required 
  10. Kasoori methi 1 tbspoon
  11. Oil /butter required during grilling.

Take curd in a bowl.


In the blender ,blend  Ginger , mint leaves , green chillies, corrainder leaves ,cumin seeds,salt with water
add this green paste in yogurt .

Mushroom Tikka






Mushroom Tikka can be made on gas i.e frying pan , griddle , over a charcoal grill or in an oven or tandoor . I have tried making it in every way and it taste awesome ,the tender mushroom grilled are just melt in mouth.we can also stuff the mushrooms and cover it with foil and leave it on rack of the charcoal for grilling.

Ingredient.....
  1. Mushroom - 10-15 buttons cup 
  2. Curd/yogurt - half cup
  3. Ginger - 1 inch
  4. Mint leaves - half a cup
  5. Green chillies - 1-2
  6. Corrainder leaves chopped -2-3 tbspoon
  7. Cumin seeds-1tspoon
  8. Lemon - half 
  9. Salt as required 
  10. Kasoori methi 1 tbspoon
  11. Oil /butter required during grilling.

Take curd in a bowl.


In the blender ,blend  Ginger , mint leaves , green chillies, corrainder leaves ,cumin seeds,salt with water
add this green paste in yogurt .


Mix properly 


Clean and wash the mushrooms. Mix the mushroom well into the marinade.


Keep in refrigeration for about 1-2 hours.


Gently insert the mushrooms into the skewers and cook on the charcoal grill from both sides.

Sweet Potato Halwa / Sheera


It is a yummy desert preffered during fast like Ekadashi, mahashivratri.....It is a made from boiled smashed sweet potato /latala/shakarkandi ,milk and sugar, The procedure is same as that of other traditional halwa or sheera .

Ingredient.....
  1. Sweet potatoes/shakarkand,latala-2-3
  2. Sugar-2 tbspoon
  3. Ghee-2 tbspoon
  4. Cardamom powder-2 pinches
  5. Milk optional

Wash the potatoes.


Peel them off.


Slice it or you can cut it finely.


Heat ghee in a kadhai or a voke.



Add in potatoes.


Saute and cook till it becomes tender.


Add in sugar as per your sweetness . Remember potatoes are allready sweet naturally , so  add accodingly.


Close th lid and cook for another 3 min.
you can add warm milk to it for cooking.




Add cardamom powder.


Garnish with fried cashews and Enjoy....
